Trace: Manage » User groups
From this page you can edit your existing member groups, delete or create new ones. You can also select to edit their permissions.
By editing the permissions of a group you can set exactly who has access to what area or action of your site.
When adding a new group you have the following options:
- Title - the title of your new group
- Parent - if you specify a parent here, your new group will inherit permissions from it
- Activation type - how should members be activated
- No activation - the users won't have to be activated, they will be able to log in right away
- User activation - the users will have to confirm their membership by clicking on a link which is sent to their email address
- Admin activation - the users can be activated only by the admin
- Login redirect url - where should the user of this group be redirected after logging in (absolute url required)
- Logout redirect url - where should the user of this group be redirected after logging out (absolute url required)
- Session expiration - should we log members out after X seconds?
- Expiration date - should we expire users on this date?
- Description - a small description of your group
