Trace: Manage » Products » Manage discounts

By adding a new discount you can gift your members if their cart contains a certain quantity. A discount can't be added to membership products as it wouldn't make any sense. Also, if the product was saved without allowing multiple purchases (see Manage products), you will not be able to add discounts. A discount can't be attached to a product with a price of 0 (free).

The “add discount” form contains the following options:

  • product - you must select the product(s) that will have this discount available
  • status - specifies if the discount is active or inactive
  • rule - this rule is attached to the quantity. If the rule for example is >= 2 (default values), the buyer's cart will have to contain at least 2 in the quantity field.
  • discount amount - this represents the amount that will be deducted from the total price if the above rule will be met. The discount amount can be a fixed value with any currency or a percentage.
